Review

Go Ollie!, developed by Charlie Dog Games, is a platform game with an original gameplay. Ollie is a little worm that embarks on an adventure through a dangerous jungle in search for love and fortune. To reach its objective, this little worm has to overcome different levels, jumping on platforms, collecting coins, fruits and other objects, while managing to survive in a hostile environment, with the threat brought in by evil creatures like spiders and snails. On higher levels, the screen will start scrolling, forcing Ollie to jump and collect objects more quickly.

Go Ollie! is basically a platform game, that differences from classic platformers in that the character is controlled with the mouse. Simply clicking on the place you want Ollie to move to, will be enough to make the worm crawl and even jump. Gameplay is also combined with mechanics of other game genres, like match-3 puzzle. The best part, setting aside the fact that the game becomes increasingly challenging and exciting as we move on, is that every level poses a new challenge and has unique features so it never gets repetitive.

On the other hand, Go Ollie! graphics have been nicely rendered, plenty of bright colors, and good animations, with nice fitting music as well. Many levels to play, two game modes, bonus stages, and power ups, make this apparently childish game suitable for gamers of all ages.
